Led by industry leader, Damon E. Duncan, CEO-Academy is unlike many of the existing leadership development training available today. Mr. Duncan is a 30-plus year public and affordable housing professional who has managed small, medium, and large Authorities, developed hundreds of units while enhancing the overall quality of life for the families served by various initiatives.An avid trainer, consultant, developer, and adjunct professor, Mr. Duncan understand how to connect with students and practitioners with real-world solutions to the issues and complexities of providing quality affordable housing in various settings.

CEO Academy is targeting public housing, non-profit, and government administrators:

CEO Academy is a one-year cohort that deals with the nuts and bolts of public agency governance and oversight.  Over the course of one year, you will complete the following modules:
  • Strategic PHA Repositioning – Innovative Programming

  • Developing and maximizing the non-profit
  • Recruitment, placement & Succession Planning
  • Leadership Development: Strategic Continuing Education
  • Understanding the history of racism and disparities in public housing
  • Small, medium, and large PHA strategies
  • Capstone Introduction
  • Strategic Transitioning
  • Alternative Career Tracks
  • Project Management Essentials
  • Creating non-traditional positions
  • Strategically absorbing other agencies
  • Public speaking essentials
  • Comprehensive Community Development / Mixed Finance Development
  • Understanding and calculating Low Income Housing Tax Credits
  • Excel Bootcamp (budgets and pro-formas)
  • Effective supportive Services
The charter cohort is scheduled to meet on August 8-10, 2023, at The Gathering Spot in Atlanta, Georgia.  There will be two days on classroom instruction.  Day three will be held at the Atlanta Housing Authority – where we participate on various presentations and tour the Atlanta Housing signature properties.

The second meeting with the charter cohort will be held in February of 2024 (exact date to be determined) at Morehouse College in Atlanta.

The Black-Tie graduation ceremony for the charter cohort will be held in the summer of 2024 with the date to be determined.  During the ceremony students will present their capstone projects to the attendees.  The Black-Tie ceremony will also serve as a fundraiser to promote scholarships through our Ventures Youth Development non-profit.

Total Cost: $4,500.00 – This fee can be paid in two installments of $2,250.00.  Each installment is due 30 days prior to cohort meeting date.
